As researcher, Nelson designed a Balance Scorecard to visualize measurements of key performance indicator for 22 hospitals in Bogotá Colombia. It shows multiple indicators for each category (Administration, financial, productivity and safety). This tool is used for Local Health System. He designed, implemented and assessment Quality Health Program for a Local Health System. Lead cost efficiency studies, it involved around a core set of impact services, patients outcomes patients safety, financial, administrative and patients logistic flow and facilities. He implemented Theory of Constraints to identify de-bottle neck into the hospital process, in order to eliminate constraint, increase process throughput, increase productivity, reduce unnecessary steps and improve the process being considered in a hospital in Bogotá. Used statistical process control charts to identify causes of variations. A control charts shows data over time, relative to both a mean a control limits. Also he led the study costs of providing services to people awarded and analysis of the capitation value.
